We are pleased to present this collection of fresh new abstracts by Maria Burtis, Maya Kabat, and Elise Morris. The pieces in this collection are inspired by the environments in which we live and work. From our structured cityscapes and expansive seascapes, to our beautiful California wilderness, these painters attempt to describe our experience of immaterial realities such as being in light and space. On a more concrete level they explore the boundaries between known forms and abstraction, and ultimately push us to notice how not only how we experience our environments, but also how felt and remembered experiences collide with the present.
