Hashimoto Contemporary is pleased to introduce Flashback, a solo exhibition by San Francisco-based artist Kim Cogan. By focusing on the light and forms of the urban environment, Cogan’s latest series of paintings explore the iconography of memory.
Steeped in San Francisco’s obscure enclaves and outer landscapes, Cogan’s subjects transport the viewer to a timeless place at once familiar and incomplete. The paintings document the vanishing architecture of the city’s streets, activating recollections of the past akin to discovering a long-lost photograph of a bygone age.
Please join us for Flashback, opening Saturday, October 7 with an evening reception from 6pm – 9pm, where the artist will be in attendance. This exhibition will be on view through Saturday, October 28.
