San Francisco: Catharine Clark Gallery presents Post-Nature, an exhibition of new paintings by Kara Maria, on view January 27 to March 17, 2018.
Post-Nature considers the precarious relationship between natural and man-made environments, as well as the impact of climate change on global biodiversity. Maria’s work presents visual dialogues between abstraction and representation, and her paintings feature intricate renderings of endangered animals against dynamic fields of vivid hues and frenetic forms – a nod to the chaotic and constructed environment, whether built or technological, surrounding all creatures.
Kara Maria’s exhibition is complemented by a media room presentation of
Certainty of Ambiguity , a series of new fiber optic data tapestries by LigoranoReese.
Join us for an opening reception, January 27th from 2 -5 pm. Artist talks will begin at3 pm.
