Modernism is pleased to present its first exhibition of works by Kai Rittun, an established Norwegian artist and a master of the woodcut technique, one of the oldest techniques in fine art printmaking.
From the clarity of light to the mysteries of darkness; from the obscure, impenetrable to the playful and loving, Kai Rittun’s work is a trail through varying moods such as one would experience when walking through the varied and dramatic nature of his native Norway. The sun scattered woodlands, the murky seas and the clarity of the fjords provide ample inspiration for Rittun’s distinctive woodcuts.
