Artists’ Talk Saturday, December 10th, 3pm
Transmission Gallery presents Jon Kerpel ‘s Earth Gems in our small space gallery.
Recognizing the vital importance of diversity of species as an indicator of the health of our natural world, Kerpel’s sense of design and fine craftsmanship celebrate and elevate animal species as precious jewels. Each occupies a special niche, surrounded by a myriad of wildlife silhouettes interspersed with elegant bead details. Universal symbols radiate a calming symmetry as supporting elements in Kerpel’s totemic pieces.
Showing concurrently in our featured exhibition is Mark M. Bauer: Painting Out of a Corner. Bauer’s colorful and surreal works also addresses the preciousness of our environment though perhaps with much more trepidation and pathos.
All are welcome to join us for the Artist’ Talk, Saturday, December 10th starting at 3 pm. Hear from the artists about their work on view at Transmission Gallery in a causal gallery walk-through and enjoy the light refreshments out on our deck (weather permitting). The event is free and open to the public with free street parking nearby.
Transmission Gallery Oakland is open Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, noon to 5 pm and by appointment (Closing at 4pm on Dec 24th and 31st).
