Modern Eden Gallery is pleased to present “Talk to Me”, the latest series of paintings from San Francisco artist, Emilio Villalba. These new paintings expand upon themes from his recent solo exhibition last Spring. Fresh off this success, the artist has been back in the studio and exploring the full tonal range.
A Southern California native, Emilio Villalba received his BFA from the Art Institute of California in 2006, and his MFA in Painting from the Academy of Art University in 2011. He currently lives in San Francisco where he teaches at the Art Institute of California and Cogswell College.
Artist Statement:
My portraits are inspired by master works, as well as the contemporary human condition. They explore the dissonance created when the familiar is fractured and distorted by outside influence.
The opening reception for ‘Talk to Me’ will be held at Modern Eden Gallery on Friday, October 14, 2016 from 6 pm–9 pm. Emilio Villalba will be in attendance at the reception. The exhibition will be on display through October 29, 2016 and is free and open to the public.
