John Evans: Artist Opening

Caldwell Snyder Gallery is pleased to present the opening of A Collection of Time by John Evans. The artist will be in attendance for an opening reception on Thursday, October 4th, from
5:30-7:30pm. Exhibition continues through October 31.
Over the course of his long career, John Evans has always been a painter of fields, seeming to reveal underlying patterns of the natural world. “The paintings are spiritual,” Evans has said. “They’re classic in their concern for the ambiguity of two- and three-dimensional space, but they’re also theaters that invite meditation.” This idea of a theatrical space, both for the artist to create within and for the viewer to mentally animate and inhabit, infuses his work, in which multiple small dramas play out, occasionally between actual figures, but most often between forms and colors.
